Manage Views

Named views store still camera shots with specified name


Named view not only store camera and target locations, also layers and UCS associated with the view

New View Options


Save layer snapshot with view
Retain the layer states with the view saved

UCS
UCS to be saved with the view

Live Section
Activate a section plane if avaiable

Visual Style
Visual Style to be saved with the view

Background
Adding background to view
Like Solid, Gradient, Image, Sun & Sky

Modifying View


Update Layers
Save the new layer states with the view

Edit Boundaries
Modify the boundary area highlights in the view

Ex: Manage Views

View tab > Views panel > View Manager


Background Override: Image


Click Browser for the background image


Click Adjust Image


Image position: Stretch


Click Set Current, then click OK


Creating ShowMotion Animation

Create shots and view categories can be play by AutoCAD


Ex: ShowMotion

Navigation Bar > ShowMotion



ShowMotion toolbar appear above the status bar



Click New Shot

View Name: Start
View Category: Closeup
Current position: Starting point
Distance: 600

Click Preview button to test the settings
Click OK to confirm the shot



Click Play on the new created shot



3D model zoom in as a closeup view

ShowMotion toolbar > New Shot





View Name: Crane
View Category: Closeup
Movement type: Crane down
Current position: Starting point

Click Preview to test the settings
Click OK to confirm



Click Play on the last shot fo get the new starting point for the next shot

ShowMotion toolbar > New Shot





View Name: Turn Right
View Category: Closeup
Movement type: Orbit
                        Degree right - 45 degrees
Current position: Starting point

Click Preview to test the settings
Click OK to confirm



Click Play on the last shot

ShowMotion toolbar > New Shot





View Name: Crane Up
View Category: Closeup
Mobement type: Crane up
                        Shift right - 400

Click Preview to test the settings
Click OK to confirm



Click Play on the Closeup category to play all the shots


Modify the Shot

Right-click on the 2nd shot - Crane


Select Properties


Change the Transition type to Cut to Shot
Repeat the same steps on the rest of the shots, except the 1st shot

Creating Video Animation

Camera views are static pictures, moving around objects in 3D space is easy to explain your design concept


Walk Through

Mouse 
Wheel: Roll up and down to move forward and backward
Left button: Hold to move left and right

Arrows on keyboard
Up / Down / Left / Right to move forward, backward, left and right


Animation Motion Path

Create motion path by polyline or spline


Change to the different height for each point


Set the durations and resolutions


Preview to test the different settings

Ex: Walk Through and Motion Path

Render tab > Animations panel > Walk and Fly Settings



Change the settings



Walk/ Fly step size: 100 drawings units



Position Locator palette startup



Walk Through must be in perspective view
The big green cross is target, small black cross is camera



Change the camera and target height:
Position Z: 1000
Target Z: 1500



Rollup the mouse wheel, or
Press and hold the up arrow key to move forward



Press the right arrow key move to the right


Animation Motion Path

Change to Top view
Home tab > Draw panel > Spline



Draw a spline from door of foter - Dining Room - Cups on dining table - Wall Lamp - Side Table

Change to isometric view



Use the gizmo move the path in Z axis 950



Use the grip move the lower-left point to the mid of the column

Render tab > Animations panel > Animation Motion Path



Click the Select button



Click OK for the name Path1



Change the Duration to 20



Click Preview button



Animation is fly along the path



Adjust the path's height as need

Run the Animation Motion Path fuction again to test the adjustments few times, until satisfied



Change the duration to 30 to slow down the flying speed
Preview again



Change to the higer resolution: 800 x 600
Click OK



Input the file name to save the animation



The video is creating
