Ex: Creating Section View

Start SECtion command



Select the solid



Click ZX on the command line to select ZX plane



Snap to center of the left cylinder



Snap to center of the right cylinder

Select the section



Select Y axis of the gizmo, move the section to the right

Repeat the Section command



Snap to 3 points

Select the section



Select Y axis of the gizmo, move the section to the left

Repeat the Section command
Click YZ on command line



Snap to the center of the hole

Select the section

Use the gizmo move it to the right




Section Plane

Home tab > Section panel > Section Plane



Snap to center of the left cylinder



Snap to center of the right cylinder



Section plane is created within these 2 cylinders



Select the Section Plane - Right-click



Select Activate live sectioning



Right part slice off

Right-click - Show cut-away geometry




The slice-off part show in red

Right-click - Generate 2D/3D section



Select Create



Place the 2D section on the right



Press Enter 3 times to accept the default X, Y scale and rotation angle

Right-click - Generate 2D/3D section
Select 3D Section



Select Section Settings



Intersection Fill
Face Hatch: Predefined/ANSI32
Color: Yellow



Place the 3D section part on the left


Add Jog to Section

Change to Top view
Window-select the Section Plane


Drag the 2 end grips to expand the Section Plane

Right-click - Add jog to section



Snap to the left grip



Section Plane bend 2 times at right-angle



Drag the triangle to right



Drag the triangle up



Stop at the mid of the slanted part



Change to isometric view


Section Boundary

Click and make the right grip hot, move it toward the solid


Make it shorter than the solid


Click on the upside-down triangle, select Boundary


Section Volume

Click on the upside-down triangle


Select Volume


Make the triangle grip hot, and move downward
